ISSUE…made possible by YOU.

Each year, ISSUE supports hundreds of artists in the creation of new and groundbreaking work. Grants and ticket sales account for less than half of the support necessary for these vital artists. For the rest, we turn to good folks like you. Please make a donation today. Your support will be felt by thousands, including you!

What’s New(s)

Cinderella Liz July_7

Ann Liv Young's Cinderella, coming to ISSUE on September 3 & 4, is inspired by versions as disparate as Disney's and the macabre Grimm brothers'. This one-woman show (starring Young's alter-ego Sherry) seeks to please no one, critiquing the male authorship of one-dimensional female fairy tale characters.

Check out Ann Liv Young's interview in Time Out New York for her thoughts on Cinderella, and this Revel in New York video of some of her past work. The Revel in New York video does contain nudity, language, and other uncensored footage of Young's past work.

Thanks to everyone who applied for ISSUE's Emerging Artist Commission Program! We received an overwhelming number of applications and were extremely impressed with the range and the quality of the work. We are proud to announce the following 8 recipients of the commissions for 2010: Doron Sadja, Michael and Dawn Haleta, Michelle Nagai, Laura Vitale, Enda Bates, Ben Vida, Natacha Diels and Alex Chechile. Throughout the year and into 2011 we will be presenting these new and exciting works. Stay tuned...and thanks again to everyone who applied!
